The Port of Barcelona

The Port of Barcelona is one of the city's most iconic landmarks and a key link between Barcelona and the Mediterranean. Over the years, the area has evolved into a space open to the sea, where history, culture, leisure, and gastronomy come together.

Port Vell is the section closest to the city center and is home to some of the area's best-known attractions:

  • Maremagnum, located on the Moll d’Espanya, is a major leisure hub featuring shops, restaurants, and waterfront terraces.
  • Rambla de Mar, a wooden walkway extending into the harbor that connects Port Vell with Maremagnum.
  • L’Aquàrium de Barcelona, also on the Moll d’Espanya, offers a chance to explore Mediterranean marine life and boasts one of Europe's longest underwater tunnels.
  • The Columbus Monument (Mirador de Colom), situated at the end of La Rambla, marks the entrance to the port and offers one of Barcelona's most famous views.
  • Las Ramblas, which start at Plaça Catalunya and run down to the port, connect this area with the city's historic center.

Today, the Port of Barcelona also serves as a gathering place where visitors can enjoy the waterfront promenade, discover new spaces, and take in views of the Mediterranean right in the heart of the city.
